AC Wollaton Charity Game

By Brendan Richardson

AC Wollaton run out 5-2 winners on the night.

Report from AC Wollaton:

Another magical evening of enjoyment, laughter, football and ultimately charity, as Radcliffe Olympic hosted the "The Angels" at Wharf Lane.

Goals from Scott Litchfield x2, James Forbes, Ryan Perkins, and Gethyn Tustin saw AC run out 5-2 winners, raising £300 in the process.

The game was a extremely competitive one with both sides giving no quarter. Olympic deserve praise as they conducted themselves professionally and were a credit to the community of Radcliffe. As for the the "Angels" we saw a team united and galvanised. Lead by a dynamic duo of Ian Lowe and Steve Hardie, you would be hard pressed to find a better management team, Hardie's first AC team talk certainly had the goosebumps effect and I secretly think it sparked that competitive fire within him once more. The food at the Manvers Arms was probably the best we've had up to date.

So now we enter a really busy period starting with two back to back fixtures in March as we face Kimberley Miners Welfare Sunday (at Blidworth Welfare) and then a huge game against Gedlng Southbank (at Arnold Town) for childrens Charity "Wish Upon A Star"
There's an old saying that "football's the winner", however in our case it's brave young souls facing life threatening conditions that are always the winners, when the "Angels" spread their wings and play!
