Eastwood Town away
Blues beaten in stoppage time
Eastwood were ahead within about 5 minutes from a free kick just outside of the 18 yard area that was neatly headed in. However it was not long before Jack Monk made it all square scoring from close quarters, assisted by Joel . Although the Blues were pretty sluggish at times the more the game went on the more confident they became and the more possession they had. From another freekick after Dan had been fouled Joel delivered a great shot which produced an excellent save from the Eastwood keeper. At half time it finished 1-1. The second half was a close and tense affair with neither side being in the ascendancy. Jack T was clearly struggling from an injury and was subbed a couple of times, but at about 12 minutes in he shot just over the bar. Jack M and Heath both came very close to scoring as did Dan who had an excellent match overall. Eastwood had their moments including missing an open goal. Literally with only seconds left in the second half Eastwood scored which in the circumstances was a real killer blow. A draw would have been a fair result, but as we all know football is not fair. The boys attitude was good, they kept plugging away and after a slow start achieved good energy levels. On another day the outcome could have been very different. But not on this occasion.
