Radcliffe Blues made an awesome attacking start to the quarter finals in the FA Trophy against a massive opposing team, Ernhale Colts. Ernhale were on the scary attack straight away having a booming shot at Josh in goal, but he made a brilliant save. Our boys were straight back on the attack with a great pass from Noah to Bob who fractionally missed scoring. There were great saves made by both keepers with Radcliffe keeping up the attack. A good shot by Johnny was followed by an awesome pass from Sam to Johnny, then from Johnny to Bob who scored ... BOOM 1-0 to Radcliffe.

Straight from kick off Ernhale were on the attack but no worries for Radcliffe as Sanju smashed it away with an amazing header. Skillsy Millsy straight on it hit it at goal but the keeper just touched it and it smashed the crossbar and the keeper saved it. Mum didn't make many notes for the next bit as she got distracted by the arrival of hot cross buns from a local church!! Noah injured his ankle so he was subbed for Jacob / the Ninja!!! Suddenly Ernhale were on the attack down the wing and their player crossed the ball in and they finished it in the back of the net. Out of nowhere they were on the attack again but Charlie, the wall tackled their player as ever.

HALF TIME!!!!!!!

Straight away Bob crossed the ball to Noah who just missed. Jacob, working hard at the back, solidly cleared the ball away. Henry, with a fighting spirit, battled the massive Ernhale defender. Cross in by Sam, Noah got the ball and it sadly just went over the bar. Radcliffe were on fire with their numerous attempts on goal, fantastic battling. We wanted to win this!! Sam shot on target, saved by keeper. Great shot by Bob, rebounded off the goal post and saved by the keeper. Lots of great football by Radcliffe, loads of attempts on goal. Finally, we were on the attack Henry had the ball, played it to Noah who made an awesome pass to Bob, Bob shot at the goal, it hit the cross bar and then bounced just over the line, reminiscent of Geoff Hurst's controversial goal in the 1966 World Cup Final (Dad says!)! We didn't care, the ref gave it, IT WAS A GOAL!!!! 2-1

Special mention to Bob who not only scored both goals today but he has now reached an amazing grand total of 40 goals this season. Well done Bobby!!
