The Blues were the guests of Long Bennington, in the wilds of
Lincolnshire. It was a reasonable day for football, but still freezing
cold for the long suffering parents. LB are riding high in the league at
the moment and the Blues had their work cut out to compete, which they
did. The match started in a lively fashion. Heath had a great lob early
on which was gathered by the LB goalie. Henry also made a good save.
After 20 minutes LB were in front from a controversial free kick wide of
the goal. It was an excellent shot which Henry could do little with.
Shortly afterwards Jack T had a great looping shot that looked a goal
all the way into the top left hand corner. Credit to the LB goalie he
got his fingertips to it and tipped the ball on to and over the bar. At

were awarded a free kick which was quite a long way out but nonetheless
well within Joel's capabilities. Sadly Joel's magic was not enough on
this occasion as his shot went just over the bar. It clearly wasn't to
be for the Blues as LB got two late goals on the break that massively flattered
them, a draw would have been a fairer result and on another day the
Blues could have won it, so good was the performance from all the lads
who played. They must take credit for sticking at it and playing their
socks off. It ended up 3-0 to LB. Special mention to Joel, Leo, Heath
& Lawrence who as a defensive 4, played excellently as system and
